This ThatiKava was truly exceptional, featuring guest host Kneo Mokgopa in captivating conversation with renowned drummer and musician Tumi Mogorosi, as well as talented photographer Andrew Tshabangu.

What made this episode particularly remarkable was the presence of our audience at The Forge.

Mogorosi collaborated with Tshabangu for his album cover, Group Theory: Black Music, which showcases a striking black and white image depicting a young child leading a large crowd.

Under the guidance of Kneo Mokgopa, the conversation delves into thought-provoking themes surrounding the representation of the black body in visual arts and photography, and more importantly, explores the significance behind Mogorosi’s choice to incorporate Tshabangu’s archival image.
We extend our special thanks to Kneo Mokgopa, The Forge, Tshepiso Moropa, and Tseliso Monaheng for their invaluable contributions.
